Production of white chocolate pistachio popsicles at the Nestle factory (PR)

You'll have to believe us when we say it's not an easy job, not an easy one at all.

To experience all the new products that come out of the Israeli market (and sometimes even outside it), to taste before everyone else, deliveries and more deliveries, paper bags that accumulate in the office (and at home), a constant feeling of satiety.

Seriously, it's harder than it looks, and no one is paying you for the gym, or compensating you for the rapidly evolving sense of FOMO in the mind.

For all the articles in the "New on the Shelf"

section, however, the "New on the Shelf" section, with its tasters, curious and loyal consumers, has hit the road again.

And this time - pasta for Shavuot, cheeses for Shavuot, wine for Shavuot, and one popsicle that has taken over the country in recent weeks.

Yes, we are very eclectic.

enjoy your meal!

New on the shelf

The great nostalgic attack continues, but how delicious is it?

Let's start with something you certainly did not hear about, did not see on social media, and did not attack because of it on ice cream refrigerators in containers near your home - Nestle's new pistachio crunch.

The ice cream company has leveraged a successful viral idea into an equally successful marketing move, anchored in a white chocolate and pistachio popsicle, with a pistachio core, and coated in white chocolate and pistachio chips.

The stories were watched, the cravings intensified and in the end we managed to shake everything up, take over one popsicle, and get free to taste.

This is a limited edition (probably) of a popsicle that was once considered normal in size, but today - with the more logical sex worlds for those who do not want to put their daily calorie intake on a stick - is perceived by me as a monster.

But a delicious monster.

The coating is indeed crispy but not fragile, the white chocolate ice cream is delicious and provides a pleasant break on the way to the core, and the latter - greenish, pistachio, curatorial - completes everything into a very corrupt bite of summer.

Only in resuscitation, sex.

Aside from this hit, Nestlé also launched a nut chocolate popsicle (successful, mature and aligned with the beloved brand) and an extreme salty pretzel curry (a little too sweet and a little too big for my taste).

In three words: worth the hip.

Shavuot Cheeses, Tnuva

The dairy giant is preparing for the most milky holiday there is with intriguing cheese launches, and some hospitality ideas that cut it short from the shelf to the table.

The move includes, among other things, a slice of blue cheese (150 grams) that sat well on a pre-Shavuot tray but worked no less well as a seasoning with castor, "Promez" triangles (200 grams) fun to serve but still preferable to my taste in small bites as part of a quiche for example. And goat cheese cubes in spicy oil that happily jumped into a salad bowl, with the oil of course.

In five words: everyone will find something here.

And something to take down all these festive cheeses: Chateau Robin Winery from Provence lands in Israel B de St. Beatrice, a dry and spring rosé wine.

The wine, from the 2020 vintage, consists of Sinesau, Granche, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes, and provides a pink sip with a successful floral-fruity aroma.

Price: 75 shekels.

Beside it, Bartnora Winery from Piedmont, Italy Pinot Grigio from the 2020 vintage, offers a dry white wine, with a pear presence and a cool finish, as required by the requirements of the current season.

Price: 65 shekels.

In one word: cheers!

Super Truffles, Fringe

Fringe launches SuperTraffel, chocolate balls made from natural ingredients, combined with superfoods and without added sugar.

This is a small dessert, the size of a regular truffle, with healthier surprises like black beans and oats.

The flavors range from coconut, cocoa, macha-pistachio and a children's version with "super-candies" from spirulina, for example.

The two variations sent for testing - crispy dark chocolate and milk chocolate - provided exactly that "something sweet" that is a must at the end of the meal, with far less pangs of conscience.

In two words: a clean treat.

Bread Weekend, Angel

Angel's Weekend Bread (Photo: Angel)

Angel Bakery is launching "Weekend Bread", a thick slice loaf aimed at weekend treats, with homemade brunch dishes on top.

The bread, which will be distributed towards the weekend of course, is characterized by an almost brioche texture, soft and cakey in its ambitions, but vegan.

The relatively thick slices also speak the same language, and the whole construction stood up well to the simple sandwich test, as well as in trying to put together French toast that does not require you to have an immediate arterial examination.

In four words: both bread and cakes.

Avocado Reed, Granot Farmer

And with already bread, and a weekend, and brunch - the company "Farmer Granot" began marketing the avocado reed variety, which carries a low percentage of fat relative to the fruit, and a quality image.

He is also considered, mercifully, the last avocado of the season.

A few and patient days of barely ripening on the kitchen table finally led to the coveted avocado toast.

The texture was excellent in a creamy finish, the taste is very balanced, and the aroma is nutty enough to continue eating this whole story as its growers intended - in a spoon and nothing more.

In two words: as before.

Pasta Orquita, Brilla

Brilla's Orca Pasta (Photo: Brilla)

The Italian pasta brand is celebrating Shavuot with a series of products in a special edition, led by the orca, shell-shaped pasta.

The pasta - smooth on the inside and notched on the outside - requires a certain amount of stirring during cooking, to prevent mutual adhesion, and once that is over, it is soon matched to a meaty sauce, and has demonstrated excellent grip capabilities.

Her modest size soon led her to a salad bowl and even there she felt at home, joining the list of effective shapes on the shelf.

In four words: the same holiday, only in Italian.
