Despite their small size, they contain such high nutritional values.

Almost every parent you ask will answer that he would like his child to eat more nutritious, to prefer healthy snacks over sweets, and to be open to new flavors and textures.

This is a logical and desirable aspiration, but the truth is that sometimes our children need some help to become these children, and that includes their early and gradual exposure to healthy components.

To help you do that, without standing for hours in the kitchen (because who has time for that), we asked Shani Arad, Strauss' nutritionist and mother herself, to tell us which 5 foods can upgrade the kitchen nutritionally.

Here are her answers.

Every parent knows that vegetables are a very important component of children's nutrition (Photo: PR)

1. Vegetables, Baby

Every parent knows that vegetables are a very important component in a child's diet because they are rich in vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber.

Still, many parents despair at some point of washing vegetables, cutting and serving them, while the children taste a little at best, or twist a face and move the plate away in many other cases.

Baby vegetables make this mess simpler - easier to serve, their appearance more tempting to children, and if necessary - they return to the fridge until the next meal.

Without waste.

Another significant advantage is that due to the fact that these vegetables are not cut, they do not lose vitamins, and thus they can be an available and healthy snack over time.

2. My first yogurt

The yogurt base consists of two components, milk and an abundance of good bacteria.

Milk contains vitamins, minerals and protein with high nutritional value, and the friendly bacteria are a simple and easy way to incorporate probiotics into your daily diet.

To help children connect to yogurt and start consuming it from the very first flavors, Danone has developed yogurt that is suitable for children - the size of the cup, the texture, the taste and the addition of the mineral vitamins.

This is a yogurt with a thick texture that allows children to eat independently.

The yogurt contains extra vitamin D and calcium according to the nutritional needs of children, and comes in a cup that is sized for children - one that fits the grip of their small palm, and 'grabs' only part of the meal and not the whole, so you can maintain a more varied meal.

3. Tahini and peanut butter

Peanut tahini and butter are spreads made up of good fats, and besides the fact that they can star in a sandwich, they can be incorporated into almost any dish.

Peanut tahini and butter can easily be a part of any fruit smoothie or popsicle you make for kids.

This way the children will enjoy pampering, and you will know that they have put healthy and important nutrients into their bodies.

4. Oatmeal

Oatmeal is rich in dietary fiber that helps the feeling of satiety and the digestive process, yours and your child's.

A significant advantage of oatmeal is the fact that you can enjoy its benefits in many ways - it can replace the bread crumbs with patties you make for children, you can make great cookies with it (and we also recommend using tahini from the previous section), you can grind it and flour to make nutritious pastries, you can combine Her in pancakes, and of course - enjoy it as porridge, hot or cold.

One particularly nutritious ingredient that can be used with you in a multitude of different ways.

5. Berries

Fruits are a wonderful thing, and berries have a special place with us due to the fact that despite their small size they contain such high nutritional values, and are even rich in antioxidants due to their bright color.

You can add berries to porridge, smoothies, muffins, and just enjoy them as a snack at a four-course meal.

And if you think your kids are fruit refusers - try berries.

The bright color, the dominant taste and their size make them a fruit that children especially love.
