2 June: Mattarella first in Altare patria, then parade

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 27 - The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Republic, invited the Heads of Mission accredited in Italy to a concert performed at the Quirinale by the Orchestradel Teatro "La Fenice" on 1 June in Venice conducted by Maestro Myung WhunChung, music by Ludwig van Beethoven and PietroMascagni on the program.


    The concert will be broadcast live on Rai Uno, starting at 6.30 pm and will be opened by a greeting from President Mattarella.


   There will not be - for reasons related to the precautionary measures adopted to combat the Covid 19 infection - the traditional evening reception in the Quirinale Gardens.


    On Thursday 2 June, at 9.15 am, the President of the Republic, in the presence of the highest institutional offices, will pay homage to the Altare della Patria with the deposition of a laurel wreath with tricolor ribbon.

At the same time there will be the flyover of the Frecce Tricolori over the skies of Rome.


    Subsequently he will receive, in Via di San Gregorio, the presentation of the departments lined up for the magazine and will attend the traditional Military Parade from the presidential tribune of the Imperial Forums.


   In the afternoon of 2 June there will not be the usual opening to the public but, always in compliance with the measures to prevent the risk of contagion from the Covid19 virus, the entry of the Quirinale Gardens will concern categories of people with fragility represented by national associations.


    The guests will be about 2,300 divided into shifts to allow all guests to move with adequate levels of safety.


   The identification of the guests was handled by the Lazio Region, by Roma Capitale and by the Metropolitan City of RomaCapitale.
