(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 27 - The blitz of farmers, breeders and citizens arrived in Rome from different regions against the invasion of wild boars, to ask to stop a calamity that spreads swine fever, destroys crops, attacks animals and causes road accidents with deaths and injuries.

Apostoli the breeders have also brought typical Made in Italy products that risk disappearing due to swine fever that affects pigs but not humans.
Many writings confirm the exasperation of Italians in a country invaded by 2.3 million wild boars.
A real emergency, so much so that over eight out of 10 Italians (81%), according to the Coldiretti / Ixè survey, think that it should be tackled with the abatements, especially by appointing specialized personnel;
as many as 26% came face to face with these animals.
Wildlife for 90% of citizens represents a problem, also because in the last year there has been an accident every 41 hours with 13 victims and 261 serious injuries.
And again, 69% of Italians believe that wild boars are too numerous, while 58% consider them a threat to the population, as well as a serious problem for cultivation and environmental balance (75%).
The result is that 62% of Italians are afraid of it and almost half (48%) would not take a home in an area infested with wild boars.
When asked who should solve the problem, over half of the Italians (53%) think it is up to the Regions, while for 25% it is up to the Government and 22% is up to the Municipalities.
