After two weeks of lavish celebrations, the curtain has just fallen, this Saturday, May 28, on this 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
The jury chaired by Vincent Lindon, and composed of Rebecca Hall, Noomi Rapace (
Millennium
), Ladj Ly and Jasmine Trinca has thus unveiled the 2022 winners.

The phenomenal climb of the steps of the 75th anniversary of the festival
"Each of the films in this remarkable selection gave rise to fascinating and passionate, enriching and exhausting, instinctive and thoughtful discussions, but above all useful since our decisions were all obtained with a good majority", declared Vincent Lindon before revealing the big winners of the official selection.
The jury prize was thus won by two nominees:
Eo
by Jerzy Skolimowski and
The Eight Mountains
by Charlotte Vandermeersch and Felix Van Groeningen.
South Korean actor Song Kang-ho (
Parasite
) received the Best Actor Award for
Les Bonnes Etoiles
, while Iranian Zar Amir Ebrahimi was crowned Best Actress for her role in
Holy Spider
, by filmmaker Ali Abbasi.
The actress also delivered a strong speech by thanking “her people” and evoking her “very long” journey to get there, including a certain number of “humiliations”

The members of the jury once again struggled to designate the winner of the Grand Prize.

The 31-year-old director (

) brought the audience to tears as he delivered his speech.
He thanked his mother in a quavering voice and dedicated his prize to "tenderness".
“Thank you for showing me the incredible impact cinema can have.
You helped me find my way through movies and history,” he said.
For her part, Claire Denis greeted her filming companions as well as her actors.
Among them, Margaret Qualley, revealed in

(2018), by Quentin Tarantino.

But the Palme d'Or went to an unsuspected film, that of the Swedish director Ruben Östlund, who signs
Triangle of Sadness.
If he was not one of the favorites, the filmmaker is a regular on the Croisette since his film
The Square
in 2017 had already won the ultimate coronation.
His new feature film depicts the confrontation of a new wealthy couple struggling with a Marxist captain, all filmed on the yacht of Jackie Kennedy's husband, Aristotle Onassis.
He succeeds Julia Ducournau, who won with her film
Titane
in 2021.
All of these awards were presented in front of an audience of celebrities.
A few minutes before the start of the closing ceremony, the French Guillaume Canet or Camille Razat walked the red carpet.
Also present were Javier Bardem and Diane Kruger, in a sculptural silver dress, and her husband Norman Reedus (
Walking Dead
), as well as Anna Mouglalis.
The latter qualified this 75th edition as a high mass of cinema, which, as usual, brilliantly celebrated the 7th art and creation.
