In the last week, the percentage of reinfections out of the total Covid cases reported was 6.5%, a slight increase compared to the 6% of the previous week.
This is what emerges in the extended report of the Higher Institute of Health that accompanies the weekly monitoring.
From 24 August 2021 to 25 May 2022, 502,029 cases of reinfection were reported, equal to 3.9% of the total number of cases notified, according to the ISS, confirming the increased risk with the spread of the Omicron variant.
The sustained number of reinfections, the ISS stressed yesterday with monitoring "is not associated with an increase in severe cases".
