Barbecuing is celebrated almost reverently in summer, but there are always problems.
Sticky flesh, for example.
But the solution is simple.
Do you know that?
You put a nice piece of meat on the grill and when you turn it it sticks to the grate and in the worst case tears apart?
Onions and potatoes help against sticky grilled meat
And then you have
to laboriously scrape the mess off the grate
(this is how easy it is to clean the grate, by the way).
With a simple trick you can save yourself this disappointment in the future:
You only need
half an onion
.
Use this to rub the grate before placing the meat on it and nothing will stick.
Half a raw potato
or a
piece of bacon
have the same effect
.
Be sure to use grill tongs or a grill fork, otherwise it will smell like burnt fingers rather than a delicious steak.

.
Grill longer to prevent sticking
You can also
grill the meat a little longer than usual on one side
.
After a while, it often comes off the grate without you having to do anything.
This is due to the proteins contained in the meat.
These cause the meat to stick.
However , the
adhesions also dissolve again
.
So that the meat doesn't burn in the meantime, you can push the charcoal underneath to the edge - or hang the
grate up one level
.
However, what a woman recently experienced when she wanted to cook meat is particularly scary: all of a sudden her food jumped off the plate by itself.
