A number of educational institutions in various disciplines were opened in As-Suwayda Governorate today, including the Syria Future School for Interactive Distance Learning and the Virtual Smart Syria, a scientific museum for educational aids and a pump repair workshop in an industrial secondary school.

Regarding the importance of creating these two schools, Minister of Education Dr. Darem Tabbaa indicated during the opening that this experiment is pioneering and it is necessary to develop it in a way that contributes to enabling Syrians abroad to pursue education in the Syrian curriculum, pointing out that the two schools, which were recently granted their final licenses, have been operating for more than a year through A temporary license as an evaluation stage is the first virtual education in Syria, with similar schools in some governorates, and thousands of people from all over the world are currently enrolled in them.

During the inauguration of the Museum of the Department of Technology at the Martyr Nawras Abdel-Baqi School for Computer Technologies, which shows the development of educational aids between 1952 and 2000 and contains pictures and newspapers that reflect the development of the educational process of researcher Riad Naim, who is interested in journalistic documentation, Minister Tabbaa noted the importance of the museum as a center for attracting student visits from the governorate and abroad, with the need to Its exhibits are accompanied by an explanation according to a digital mechanism.

In the workshop for the repair of submersible pumps for drinking water wells, which was opened in the Martyr Suleiman Abdul-Din Industrial High School, Dr. Tabaa heard from those in charge of the work progress in it, after it was created as the first application of Law No. 38 of 2021 regarding vocational secondary education to transform vocational high schools into training and production centers and workshops that raise the level of education. graduates and meet the needs of the labor market.

The Minister of Education emphasized that vocational education receives the government’s attention and support in a way that guarantees a promising future for its students and those in charge of it, especially in the field of small and medium enterprises, because it supplies the labor market, provides many job opportunities, and embodies the linking of education to society, especially since As-Suwayda depends a lot on wells and suffers from the problem of maintenance of submersibles. There are workshops for this purpose, noting that the success of this workshop project will have repercussions on the water reality there.

In turn, the workshop organizers indicated its needs and the difficulties to be overcome, especially the provision of raw materials and ensuring the continuity of the electric current through the possibility of neutralizing the workshop from electrical rationing.

The person in charge of running the Suwaida Drinking Water Corporation, Engineer Amin Ghazali, indicated that the corporation needs to repair between 30 and 40 submersible pumps every month, which are maintained in workshops in Damascus and Aleppo, indicating that the creation of this workshop will contribute to the maintenance of part of the pumps within their capacity.

The director of the Martyr Suleiman Abdul-Din Industrial High School, Waheed Abu Saeed, pointed out that the workshop can maintain between 5 and 11 pumps per month in the first phase, which includes specialized technicians and craft teachers with specializations in mechanics, electricity and mechanical manufacturing, with the provision of all technical and mechanical equipment.

This morning, the Minister of Education followed the launch of the examination process for the general and professional secondary certificate in the governorates from the examination operating room in As-Suwayda and toured a number of centers in the city of As-Suwayda.

The Governor of As-Suwayda, Namir Makhlouf, the Secretary of the As-Suwayda branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Fawzat Shukair, and the Governor of the Governorate Police, Major General Maan Asaad, participated in the tour and inauguration.
