Netflix has unveiled first and impressive images from Bradley Cooper's new film, "Maestro" - a biographical musical drama about the Jewish-American composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein, considered one of the greatest of all time.
Cooper, who will play Bernstein, will also direct the film (for the first time since the acclaimed "Star Born" from 2018), and is among its producers alongside Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.
In addition to Cooper will star in the film Carrie Mulligan ("Educate Jenny", "Drive", "Promising Young Woman"), which will play Bernstein's wife, Chilean actress Felicia Montalerga;
Jeremy Strong ("Heirs") will play art critic and historian John Jonas Groan;
While Maya Hawke ("Strange Things," the daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman) will be Bernstein's daughter, Jamie.

Leonard Bernstein, who died in 1990 at the age of 72, is responsible for many and varied works, including the musicals "The Story of the Suburbs," "Candide" and "Riots in Tahiti," and the symphonies "Jeremiah," "Age of Anxiety" and "Kaddish," which include Jewish motifs. , And its world premiere took place in Israel.
The composer visited Israel many times and was an ardent supporter of Zionism.
He is considered a regular guest conductor of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, while his work "Flute" was written in memory of Yadin Tenenbaum, a young Israeli flute player who was killed in the Yom Kippur War.

Although the new film, which began shooting this month, is expected to focus mainly on the composer's relationship with his wife Felicia, Bernstein was bisexual and had relationships with Israeli actor Azaria Rapaport, Israeli artist Yossi Stern and Jewish Hollywood star Danny Kay.
