Sheryl Sandberg leaves the position of chief operating officer of Meta.
Sandberg leaves in the fall after 14 years in the company.
The announcement is entrusted to a long post on Facebook.
"When I met Mark I wasn't looking for a job, and I never imagined that meeting would change my life. Being close to Mark these 14 years has been an honor and a privilege," writes Sandberg.
“It was a decision I didn't take lightly. I want to make more room for philanthropy and my foundation,” she adds.
Javier Olivan will take over as Meta's chief operating officer, replacing Sheryl Sandberg.
Mark Zuckerberg announces it.
