xQc admits: on Twitch we are all addicted to junk.

The largest streamer in the world settles accounts in 30 seconds - with his fans, the platform and himself.

Quebec, Canada – Félix Lengyel has been the lone leader on Twitch for years.

No streamer saw more people last year than the 26-year-old Canadian.

Most people probably know him by his nickname: "xQc".

But being in the limelight also has its downsides.

As reported by IPPEN.MEDIA ingame.de, the former e-sports ace recently let himself be carried away to make a statement, for which he is now facing a lot of opposition.

Biggest streamer in the world admits everyone on Twitch is 'addicted to junk'

Who is xQc?

Félix Lengyel originally came from e-sports.

Until 2019, the 26-year-old competed in the Overwatch League, including for the Dallas Fuel and Los Angeles Gladiators e-sports teams.

The Canadian only became really successful when he entered the big Twitch stage.

His account has existed since 2014, but xQC only really got into it after his e-sports career.

The numbers speak for themselves.

In the last 365 days, xQc was able to collect an incredible 243 million viewer hours (as of June 2nd, 2022) - almost 75,000 more than the streamer in second place.

On average, he reaches more than 70,000 people with every single live stream.

He is particularly successful with so-called reaction content, which is one of the most popular content alongside a tough new gaming trend on Twitch.

In a "reaction", streamers look at videos, images or other content from all over the world - primarily on YouTube, Twitch and TikTok - and then react to them in their very own style.

The fascination often arises from seeing well-known content from a new perspective.

Emotion is king on Twitch.

It is not uncommon for xQc to have strong, albeit controversial, views.

They have now once again become his undoing.

What did xQc say?

In the live stream on June 1, 2022, Félix "xQc" Lengyel was again all about reactions.

The 26-year-old likes to sprinkle it between his gaming sessions with Elden Ring or Fortnite to offer his fans a change.

However, with one of these reactions, a viewer's hat cord burst.

Reactions, or recaps, as xQc calls them, are lazy content with no added value of their own.

The criticism visibly hit the Twitch star, and so he promptly responded.

"You say you hate recaps but can't take your eyes off them," the 26-year-old responded to the viewer's fuming reply, adding, "Every time we do recaps, you're in the chat and watching. "But that's not all.

The biggest streamer in the world probably still had a lot burning under his nails.

Police operations at xQC due to pushy fans were recently part of the agenda.

So the relationship with intrusive viewers is more than strained.

So he allowed himself to be carried away with the following statement:

We are all addicted to garbage.

People say you can get addicted to this and that.

You can become addicted to alcohol or gambling.

Boy, are we all addicted to bullshit content.

Felix xQc Lengyel

Why did the statement cause excitement?

The fact that xQc defamed its 10.8 million followers on Twitch with this fiery statement is only one side of the coin.

Apparently, neither the critical viewer nor the rest of the chat felt attacked in the stream.

Because in the same breath, xQc also admitted that he himself produces exactly this content.

If no one was addicted to "bullshit content," his live stream would have "literally zero viewers," he cheerfully adds.

Félix "xQc" Lengyel should continue to laugh up his sleeve at the lax criticism of his formats, after all, the 26-year-old benefits from foreign content in several ways.

On the one hand, thanks to Reactions, the Twitch streamer shouldn't run out of content any time soon, on the other hand, the controversy surrounding the recycled content is causing more rush to his channels.

In the period from 26.05.

until 02.06.

His maximum viewers per stream increased by 24.4%.
