Shake-up in the largest health organization in Israel, against the background of the publications in "Israel Today":

Clalit CEO Ruth Ralbag threatens to resign, only nine months after taking office.

At this point she continues in the role.

The line of articles in "Israel Today":

Senior Valley Hospital officials: "Terrible discrimination and neglect of the hospital"

The default at Haemek Hospital: "Why should a child with cancer from Afula receive treatment in Petah Tikva?"

Valley Hospital presents: A ward without doctors, nurses and beds

Neglect at Valley Hospital: Lung tests that endanger patients' lives

The director of the valley, Dr. Ziv Rosenbaum, was recently fired against the background of harsh allegations by department heads at the hospital for neglecting the periphery and inadequate service, as published in a series of articles in "Israel Today".

In the background are conflicts with the Clalit Workers' Committee, when a stormy meeting was held on Wednesday in which Ralbag and the committee's representatives participated. In the coming days, further developments on the subject are expected.

A senior Clalit official noted that "Clalit is facing a difficult image blow following the publications about what is happening at the Valley Hospital, and now this thing is coming, too."

Prosper Bo Hemo, chairman of the Clalit Workers' Committee, said:

Involve the committee.

But I'm not excited about it and do not know the reason for the rumors.

If you want to stick it on the workers' committee - let them stick.

We are not to blame for anything.

We will continue with the heads of the committees to maintain our coffers. "

However, his brother-in-law noted that there are labor disputes between the committee and Ralbag, and a "not the best" relationship. He added: "We would like to meet with her after the holiday and hear details.

This organization is important to me, and it is important that its foundations be strong and secure.

There were cases where they did not share the committee and tried to do kidnappings.

"We stopped everything, I spoke to her willingly and we asked her to stop insisting on things, but she says 'yes' and then does the opposite - which is a shame."

It should be noted that in recent years the management at Clalit has undergone several upheavals, including the departure of CEO Noaz Bar-Nir only a year later in the position, followed by the departure of his successor, Dr. Udi Dodson.

In addition, the management at Clalit, which is characterized by stability and regular appointments, suffered two crises with the surprising dismissal of Kaplan's director, Dr. Sarit Avishai Eliner, quickly and in the middle of the corona crisis a year and a half ago.

Ralbag's entourage said: "The story is out of all proportion, and it's sad.

There is no ultimatum, but a crossroads where decisions have to be made.

She is currently in the position without any change. "

A senior Clalit official responded to the CEO, saying: "There is a lot of sympathy for the CEO, who dares to look ahead and demand compliance with the standards of good medicine, while promoting and re-examining conventions that have survived for many years - and that threatens stakeholders."

Clalit said: "There is currently no new information, and when it is - we will update."

Clalit is the largest fund in Israel, insuring more than 4.5 million people.

The fund has 1,500 clinics and 14 hospitals - nine general and five in the fields of geriatrics, mental health and rehabilitation.
