A first official appearance for two years
It has now been two years since the Sussexes moved to the United States, putting aside their royal commitments.
Prince Harry nevertheless returned to the United Kingdom for the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, in April 2021, then in July, for the inauguration of a statue bearing the image of his late mother, Diana.
He had also made the trip with Meghan in mid-April to make a brief visit to the Queen of England before the Invictus Games which were taking place in the Netherlands.
The platinum jubilee therefore marks a turning point in the relationship between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Windsors, which could perhaps ease the tensions that have estranged them from the royal family.
