LVMH Prize: the other English consecration

2022-06-02T19:22:05.416Z

While yesterday, across the Channel, we were celebrating the Queen's jubilee, the French fashion competition awarded its prize to the young S. S. Daley, hope for British fashion bruised by Brexit.

When you are a designer, when you have a creative profession, you have a sensitive soul, don't you?

But if you have your own brand, you are also an entrepreneur, you must be structured, have composure, master all aspects of the business.

It's almost dichotomous and yet it's this very particular profile that, I think, we should reward with this prize",

sums up Silvia Venturini Fendi, artistic director of the men's collections and women's accessories of Fendi, the brand created by its great -parents and acquired by LVMH twenty years ago.

This is his first participation in the prestigious jury of the luxury group's competition, like the Japanese Nigo, appointed head of Kenzo a few months ago.

Alongside them, Jonathan Anderson (Loewe), Maria Grazia Chiuri (Dior), Nicolas Ghesquière (Louis Vuitton), Kim Jones (Dior Homme and Fendi's women's collections), Stella McCartney, but also Delphine Arnault, Jean-Paul Claverie and Sydney Toledano.

It's a special year with finalists who each took us on a very personal story.
