A Russian pilot instructor and his apprentice were expelled from pilot school after being photographed having sex in the cockpit during a flight.

The documentation was posted online and reached the flight school principals, who were not at all happy with what they saw.

The 28-year-old married pilot reportedly persuaded his 21-year-old student to have sex with him in exchange for additional free flight lessons.

The two were in the cockpit of a Cessna 172 in Ryazan province, about 200 km from Moscow. According to the local news site Gazeta, when the two were in the air they switched the plane to "autopilot" mode and photographed themselves having sex.

Local media reported that the guide tried to persuade the student to have sex with him after promising to give her extra flight time.

She apparently declined the offer because she knew he was a married man, but eventually agreed after promising to pay her extra tuition as well.

The scandal was revealed when the student quarreled with one of her cadet friends, who in response decided to post her video online as revenge.

The flight school learned of the video's existence just a month after the incident, when it went viral.

A number of employees at the flight school viewed the documentation and confirmed that the pilot and cadet on screen are their colleagues.

Sasovo Flight School fired the flight instructor and fired the student after their colleagues identified them in the film.

After it was confirmed that the intimate video was taken during a flight on one of the school-owned planes, both the pilot and the cadet were expelled from the school, although several media outlets reported that the apprentice left as soon as she heard her sex video was publicly posted.

When questioned about the incident, she claimed that the autopilot did work and that they were just kissing and hugging.

She later added that it was a one-off event that did not happen again and will not be repeated.
