The trial of Hollywood star Johnny Depp and actress Amber Heard has led to persistent noise on social networks for the past few weeks.

Well, in the wake of the ruling, a few celebrities have spoken out — with those who side with Depp appear to be in the majority at the moment.

"The jury gave me my life back," reads a post on Depp's Instagram account, which is believed to have the feel of personal typewritten text.

»I feel true humility.« Over 16 million likes, including, for example, the singer Patti Smith.

An Instagram statement by Amber Heard, in which she wrote that the disappointment she felt was indescribable, received over 300,000 likes.

Model Noami Campbell and actress Ashley Benson commented on Depp's Instagram statement with heart emojis.

The musician Ryan Adams also posted several emojis signaling encouragement, which, however, caused negative reactions from some users.

"You're a real abuser," it said, "not the same as Depp."

In 2019, seven women accused Adams of manipulative and abusive behavior in the New York Times.

"Justice was served today," actress Laurie Holden wrote on Twitter after the verdict.

"The jury's verdict is a message to the world that abuse has no gender and that facts do count." Aerosmith musician Joe Perry, who formed a band with Depp, wrote on Instagram, addressing his bandmates: "Congratulations Congratulations on getting your life back today«.

Music executive Sharon Osbourne, who is married to rock singer Ozzy Osbourne, expressed surprise.

“Wow, that wasn't what I expected.

I mean, I wanted Johnny to win but I didn't expect it," she reportedly said on Piers Morgan's TV show.

The controversial moderator tweeted: "Absolute hit for Johnny Depp.

Total flop for Amber Heard.”

The comedienne Amy Schumer, in turn, apparently alluded to the verdict on Instagram with a quote from the feminist Gloria Steinem.

"Any woman," the post read, "who chooses to act like a full human being should be warned that the armies of the status quo will treat her as some kind of dirty joke."
