Puffed rice covered with chocolate is one of the most popular delicacies in Germany.
A product is now being recalled due to an error.
Munich - They are among the most popular treats in German households: Nippon's chocolate-coated puffed rice cubes.
The elongated packaging of the snacks can be found in almost all supermarkets and accordingly often end up in the shopping trolley.
Normally, no major problems are suspected behind the sweets, but consumers should be careful at the moment: As the manufacturer
HOSTA announces
on its website, some batches of the chocolate puff rice cubes have to be recalled.
Product recall: manufacturer warns of Nippon puff rice
More specifically, it is a recall of two batches that have already been delivered, in which a hazard from plastic parts is feared.
All customers who bought the product "Nippon 200g" with the numbers L291 and L292 and a best before date of 03.2023 are requested by the manufacturer to return the goods in question to the relevant supermarket for a refund of the purchase price.
"For HOSTA, safety and quality have top priority," explains the manufacturer on its website.
HOSTA
suspects damage in the production process as an explanation for the faulty manufacture
.
"Despite all due diligence, it turned out that plastic parts could possibly have found their way into some 'Nippon 200g' packs," says the manufacturer.
"The plastic parts come from a cover of the packaging machine."
Errors in production: recalls are no longer a rarity
With the shift to more automated production processes and permanent manufacturing in factories, recalls due to plastic or plastic residue have increased in recent years.
Although product recalls are still not commonplace, it is always an advantage to pay attention to the latest news on the Internet and to notices in supermarkets.
If the worst comes to the worst, an exchange can then be implemented easily.
