No snow: Particularly large hailstones fell in Weiler im Allgäu

Heavy thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind have reached southern Germany.
The storm was partly accompanied by heavy hailstorms.
In the district of Lindau, for example, it looked as if it had snowed in some places: streets and squares were covered by a thick layer of white hail, and a wheel loader was used to remove it.
Local police also said there were reports of fallen trees.
More damage may be expected as more thunderstorms are forecast in the region.
Severe weather also predicted for the south-west and the middle of Germany
According to the German Weather Service (DWD), people south of the Danube must be prepared for an increased risk of severe weather as the day progresses.
Heavy rain of between 25 and 50 liters per square meter is expected, up to 75 liters could fall locally, the DWD announced.
In addition, there can be severe gusts of wind and hurricanes with up to 120 kilometers per hour.
Hailstones with a diameter of five centimeters are possible.
For the southwest and the middle of the republic, the meteorologists also predict heavy rain of up to 25 liters per square meter and locally up to 40 liters.
Wind speeds of up to 85 kilometers per hour and hailstones up to three centimeters in diameter are expected.
In the night to Monday, the storm should finally weaken and move towards the northeast.
Then, especially in the western and central low mountain range, individual showers and thunderstorms are possible.
