The Israeli Association of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery summarizes the past year in the field of injections, treatments and cosmetic surgeries in Israel, which were mostly conducted alongside the corona epidemic. The summary, which includes new data, is published for the first time on the occasion of the Tel Aviv Congress 2022, the largest conference in the country in the fields of plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine.
The union's data show that despite the health risks given the corona plague, in the past year about 630,000 injections and medical aesthetic procedures were performed in Israel, and about 82,000 Israelis underwent plastic surgery in the public and private health system in Israel.
The union's data also show that the three most popular plastic surgeries in Israel in the past year have been breast augmentation, liposuction and cosmetic nose surgery.
Along with these data, the union updates that in the past year, 75 Israelis were treated by the union's doctors in the emergency rooms of public hospitals and plastic clinics in the community, following complications of cosmetic procedures performed outside the borders of Israel.
The union emphasizes that these are usually serious infections, and sometimes in real danger of death or severe scars for life.
Dr. Meir Cohen, chairman of the association, explained: "We are very concerned about the complications, especially those created by patients who chose to perform the surgery outside the borders of the Israeli health system. We want the public to seriously consider the decision before running or flying for surgery.
"It is important to understand that not every body image problem can be solved with plastic surgery. Remember that every surgery also has risks and a vital recovery period, which must be supervised by a specialist plastic surgeon. Therefore, performing plastic surgery under general anesthesia abroad is a deadly risk Russian. "
The Tel Aviv 2022 Congress will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (tomorrow and the day after) at the Hilton Tel Aviv Hotel, with the participation of leading lecturers from Europe, the United Arab Emirates and Israel.
