Alexis Vuillermoz won the 2nd stage of the Giro del Dauphiné cycling, starter of the Tour de France, disputed from Saint-Péray to Brives-Charensac and 169.8 kilometers long.
The success of the Frenchman was favored by the miscalculations of the group which, amidst quarrels and discussions, was unable to cancel the day's escape.
The Belgian Wout Van Aert, who was already looking forward to victory, paid the price.
Vuillermoz, who preceded the Norwegian Anders Skaarseth at the finish line, second, and the other Frenchman Olivier Le Gac, third, in addition to the stage victory, also took the lead in the general classification.
In the general classification, the first three of today's arrival order lead a few seconds apart.
