The composer Christopher Evans-Ironside ("Out of Eden") has died at the age of 82.
The German-British worked under the name Chris Evans with artists such as Drafi Deutscher, Vicky Leandros, Ulla Meinecke and Werner Böhm.
The Hamburger of choice died on Friday after a serious illness, as his friend and singer David Hanselmann confirmed to the dpa on Tuesday.
"I lost my mentor, friend and great musician who made wonderful albums with me," said Hanselmann.
The "Bild" newspaper reported first.
At the age of 21, Evans arranged and wrote for Gerd Böttcher, later he met Drafi Deutscher, with whom he worked closely.
His most successful composition was »Guardian Angel«.
In Germany the title was »Jenseits von Eden« (1984) and became a world hit in the interpretation of Nino de Angelo (58).
Together with David Hanselmann, Chris Evans created the progressive rock album Stonehenge in 1980 and a year later the sequel Symbols Of The Seven Sacred Sounds.
