(ANSA) - BERLIN, 08 JUN - A car hit the crowd in the heart of Berlin, in the Charlottenburg district, causing at least one death and 8 injuries, according to reports from the ANSA firefighters.
Later a man was arrested in the German capital: the police did not report the details of the incident, nor did they provide data on the number of people involved.
According to the police spokesperson, "it is not yet clear whether this is an accident or intentional action".
The report took place at 10.30.
Over 60 fire brigade units attended.
The car that engulfed the group would be a Renault Twingo.
On the spot, there are also several ambulances, who rushed to help the wounded, some of whom are in serious condition.
The place is very close to that of the attack in which 12 people lost their lives in 2016, when the Tunisian Anis Amri overwhelmed the crowds at the Christmas market.
