Especially when space and money are becoming increasingly scarce, growing in an earth bag is worthwhile.

You should consider the following tips for this mini garden.

Munich – For many people with a green thumb, having their own garden remains an unattainable illusion.

However, that doesn't mean you have to settle for plastic plants and only store-bought vegetables.

Because if you have a balcony or a terrace, this is enough for your own mini garden.

It's not just a question of space: flower pots and tubs don't always look pretty, they also take up a lot of space and also cost money.

In addition, pots are usually round and the space between the individual plants often remains unused because there are many gaps.

If, when planting in the earth bag, you also surround it with a jute bag, the whole thing also looks decorative.

This is what you need for your own mini garden with different vegetables:

  • A sack of earth

  • If necessary, a sack of jute with the same or slightly larger capacity

  • scissors

  • cutter

  • tape

Lay the flower sack on the ground and draw circles where you want to place the plants later.

Then cut them out using the cutter.

Consider the final size of the herbs and plants so that they can expand accordingly and you don't have to replant them.

If you want, you can pull a standard jute bag over the earth bag, which not only improves the appearance, but also protects against tears or other injuries.

Suitable plants that feel comfortable in a small space are eggplant, basil and chili.

But tomatoes and cucumbers are also suitable, as are parsley and zucchini.

Since the soil in the sack is not too deep, you should water more cautiously.

Attention: To avoid waterlogging, you should definitely cut small holes on the underside.
