series emerged as the favorite against a dozen competitors such as Alexa Demie from

, Florence Pugh from

(2019) or singers Bebe Rexha and Sky Ferreira.

For several months, the competitors competed in "intense dance training sessions, which could last up to 11 hours a day, with the pop star's choreographer".

Also on the program: singing auditions and script readings with Madonna.

The documentary, whose title has not yet been revealed, will evoke the beginnings of the 63-year-old artist in New York, until his success in the 1990s. “The roller coaster of my life”

Although it's rare to see celebrities directing their own biopics, this isn't Madonna's first feature film.

Indeed, she has already directed the comedy-drama

on Wallis Simpson and Edward VIII in 2011.

Last October, in the broadcast of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallons", she explained why she had chosen to make her biopic: "The reason I do it is because a lot of people tried to write films about me, but they are still men".

Recently, in a statement, the Queen of Pop felt it was important to tell her own story: "I want to tell the incredible journey that life has allowed me to achieve as an artist, a musician, dancer and human being, who is trying to make her way in this world”.

Before adding: “The objective of this film will always be the music.

It allowed me to continue and art allowed me to live.

There are so many untold and inspiring stories, and who better than me to tell them?

It is essential to evoke the roller coaster of my life with my voice and my vision.

The production of the film is expected to start in 2023. As for the release date, it is still unknown.
