Production of white chocolate pistachio popsicles at the Nestle factory (PR)

You'll have to believe us when we say it's not an easy job, not an easy one at all.

To experience all the new products that come out of the Israeli market (and sometimes even outside it), to taste before everyone else, deliveries and more deliveries, paper bags that accumulate in the office (and at home), a constant feeling of satiety.

Seriously, it's harder than it looks, and no one is paying you for the gym, or compensating you for the rapidly evolving sense of FOMO in the mind.

For all the articles in the "New on the Shelf"

section, however, the "New on the Shelf" section, with its tasters, curious and loyal consumers, has hit the road again.

And this time - a crisp landing from Germany, a soft landing from South America, a bubbling landing from the UK and a particularly successful local growth.

Yes, we are very eclectic.

enjoy your meal!

Yes, even after the holiday

Chicken, Lulu

Lulu's Chicken (Photo: Shani Brill)

The new Israeli agro-tech venture places in the refrigerators first products in the form of chicken (whole or divided, chilled or frozen) with healthier and more ethical aspirations.

Lulu's chickens do not contain antibiotics and do not receive catalysts.

They live on the basis of Slow Grow, a method that tries to simulate their way of life in nature, allows their muscles to grow naturally and should provide a better texture and taste, all the way to placing a worthy alternative to the failures of thriving Israeli industry.

Price: about 50 shekels per kilo.

The whole (and big) chicken that came to experiment soon dived into a routine and unsophisticated marinade, paired with root vegetables and led to the oven.

It came out brown, and a few minutes later provided a relatively festive family meal, with very juicy meat and a good taste.

Has his excellent nutrition in his lifetime been felt?

No.

Does it matter?

of course not.

In two words: a leap.

Pancakes, Tevol

Gourmet pancakes from Tevol (Photo: Tevol)

Tevol prepared in advance for weeks with the expansion of its "Tevol Gourmet" brand, to four new pancakes, inspired by world cuisines - sweet potatoes with a "touch" of curry, beets, leeks as well as cauliflower and potato pancakes, "Alo Gobi" style.

Weeks have passed since it was forgotten, and the bags were finally opened on the eve of a random weekday.

Ovens were heated, pans rustled, and the bottom line was similar in each of the experiences - an excellent product, ideal for lunch or dinner, accessible to children and adults alike, and delicious.

We mostly hooked up with the leek and beet pancakes, we thought the curry needed a little more of that “touch” and that India could have been a little less peppery in the cauliflower-potato version, but those are small complaints from seventy people.

In five words: something small near, and there is a meal.

The Pale wine and Croft Twist cocktail

The resonance of weeks may have weakened completely, but there is no reason to stop drinking, right?

And this time - a British aperitif in a can and French wine in a bottle.

We'll start with a bottle of The Pale, a brand considered to be Whispering Angel's younger brother.

And let's start with the fact that this is - without exaggeration and without exaggeration - one of the most spectacular seen here recently, and one that manages to stand out even in an increasingly sophisticated design world.

The wine in it is a new rosé from the Chateau Descales winery from Provence, made from Grenache, Senso and Syrah grapes from VAR region vineyards.

The taste is dry and fruity, the feeling is refreshing and springy, and all in all it is an excellent gift, also for yourself of course.

Price: 75 shekels.

The launch of Croft Twist in Israel is now expanding into a completely justified can configuration, both for Aspirit and consumers.

The bubbly aperitif to release from the inside is a likable 5.5% alcohol take on a robbito cocktail, and includes aged pino cherries in wooden barrels seasoned with elderflowers, lemon and mint leaves.

Here, too, it is a cold proof of the existence of style, and the gentle bubbles balance everything into a great drink.

Price: NIS 16 for a 250 ml can.

In one word: for life!

Milk jam, Havana

Sids corrects a historical injustice with the landing of Havana's milk jam in Israel.

The jam, made in Barcelona (NIS 19.90 per 450 grams), is linked to the mythical Havana cookies of Argentina, but was eliminated regardless - first in the night of a cake in a hush, later as an evening corruption sandwich, and finally as nature intended in the first place - with a spoon and fingers.

In four words: do not try to fight it.

The Red Series, Primor

The popular juice brand is launching a bright new series, which, for now, includes apple-pomegranate-beet-lemon juice, apple-cherry juice and apple-cranberry juice.

This red trio comes in slightly smaller bottles than usual - 750 ml compared to a liter, priced at NIS 10-15 - but with a strong presence and distinct fruit flavors. The sugar (from the fruit) is present and noticeable, maybe a little more than we like, but everything else is delicious , Sage and fun.The apple-cranberry version was refreshing, the pairing with the cherry was deeper and a little thicker, while the combination with the beet-pomegranate-lemon we liked the most, due to the sour castor. In

two words: summer in a bottle.

Gluten Free Snacks, Touched by Nature

The Guri group lands the Touched by Nature company in Israel, on its protein-rich and gluten-free health snacks.

The move includes, at this point, four first ambassadors - almonds coated in dark chocolate and cocoa, dried fruit balls in a brownie configuration, hazelnuts coated in dark chocolate and cinnamon, and also dried fruit balls with dates, cashews and acai.

Price: 18.90 for a 100 gram bag.

A slight aroma of skepticism was felt in the air with the opening of the bags, as we were satisfied with health promises that did not provide taste receptions, but their contents improved the cynical mood.

The chocolate almonds were successful and crispy, as were the nuts.

The fruity brownie balls were cute and even the dried fruit circles skipped lightly over past hurdles of similar snacks.

In three words: a sweet and fun snack.

Orange chocolate biscuit, balsamic

Belsen Orange Chocolate Biscuit (Photo: Belsen)

The Leiman Schlissl company is expanding the shelves of the beloved German cookie brand with a special edition of orange-flavored chocolate.

It is, quite simply, a butter biscuit wrapped in citrus bittersweet chocolate.

It comes in a package (125 grams, NIS 7.90-10.90) that is good for opening and serving, but less for preservation and re-closing (although admittedly you will need less closure and even less for preservation).

The biscuit is crispy and good, the chocolate feels quality and as for the overall oranges, all that is left is to internalize that it will continue to divide the audience forever.

That's fine, more for us.

In three words: the beginning of the orange season.
