The police in North Rhine-Westphalia may have thwarted a killing spree.
According to investigators, a woman reported to the police in Dortmund on Thursday and reported that her 35-year-old son, who lives in Sauerland, had announced a killing spree via WhatsApp.
According to the information, a special task force arrested the man on Thursday evening in his apartment in Schmallenberg.
"It is still being checked whether he will be taken into psychiatric care," said a police spokeswoman on Friday.
The 35-year-old is also being investigated for announcing a crime.
