The minimum wage rises to 12 euros in October – at the same time, the earnings limit for mini-jobbers is raised

The minimum wage will initially rise to €10.45 on a regular basis on July 1st.
From October 1st, the statutory minimum wage of 12 euros will apply.

From October 1, 2022, all employees in Germany should receive an hourly wage of at least twelve euros.
The statutory minimum wage in Germany will rise to 12 euros on October 1st

So far, the
minimum wage
is 9.82 euros.
An adjustment to EUR 10.45 is already planned for July 1st.
On October 1, the level of the lower wage limit is to be raised once to
12 euros
outside of the usual increase steps.
According to Federal Labor Minister Hubertus Heil (SPD), more than six million employees will benefit from this.
On June 10th in Berlin, the Federal Council approved the increase in the statutory minimum wage to €12 per hour from October
1st
.
The
Bundestag
had passed the bill by Labor Minister Hubertus Heil (SPD) a week earlier.
Earnings limit for mini-jobbers will rise to 520 euros from October
At the same time, the
earnings limit for mini-jobs will rise from 450 to 520 euros
in October , as the German Press Agency further reported.
From October 1st, the mini-job limit should be based on a
weekly
working time of ten hours at minimum wage conditions
.
The Minijob-Zentrale had also pointed out in advance that the earnings limit for mini-jobbers is to be raised to EUR 520 per month (EUR 6,240 per year) from October 1, 2022.
So now the last political hurdle has been cleared.

The mini-job limit is currently 450 euros
For many, the mini job is a part-time job.
It is then important for the insurance status not to exceed the earnings limit.
So far, you can't earn more than 450 euros a month with a mini job, at least not regularly.
One- time payments such as vacation pay
can also influence the assessment of whether a mini-job exists, according to the information from the mini-job center of the German pension insurance.
