But when are sprouted potatoes poisonous?

Just bought it, and then this: The potatoes start to sprout - tender, green shoots sprout from the juicy tubers.

This happens very quickly, especially in warm, bright kitchens.

But are sprouting potatoes really inedible or can I still eat them?

Take a close look at sprouting potatoes

"Whether you can still eat potatoes, regardless of whether they're baked or cooked differently, depends on what they look like," reveals Harald Seitz from the Federal Center for Nutrition on bild.de.

Meanwhile, RUHR24* reveals a trick on how to peel potatoes faster.

On the other hand, if the potato is still

turgid and only germinates in a few places

, you can still eat it.

According to the expert, no more than three to five sprouts should be visible on small potatoes, and no more than four to eight on hand-sized potatoes.
