Mixing cocktails, collecting the cash and dealing with tipsy people - there are many requirements for bar staff.

You can read here which sayings they can no longer hear.

Since the Corona situation has calmed down a bit and the gastronomy has been able to welcome guests again as usual, many Germans have been happy to take advantage of this: going out to eat in a restaurant, meeting friends in the beer garden or in the pub.

What you often don't

think about: What do bartenders and waitresses actually think about their guests?

Most (hopefully) enjoy their job, but hanging out with increasingly drunk and talkative people all night can certainly be exhausting over time.

One Reddit thread asked "What kind of quips you hear all the time, whether it's for fun or serious, really get on your nerves at work?" - and the creator, who says he works at the bar, delivered right on some examples he

can no longer hear in everyday work

.

Bar staff: only annoyed by these sayings of the guests

Sometimes guests probably think "

audacity wins

." That can work, but it doesn't have to.

In the thread creator's report, a saying like "I'd take the non-alcoholic cocktail, could you also put a shot of vodka in it?" obviously doesn't go over so well.

Why should bar staff go into this, logically, non-alcoholic drinks cost less than their alcoholic equivalents.

Then to ask for a “shot of vodka” can be described as cheeky.

Just take the cocktail with alcohol directly.

Also the suggestion "We have made a good turnover, there is a

nightcap on the house

?” is on the list of the worst sayings from guests.

You might try that if you're on good terms with the staff and you're a regular customer, but more often than not it just comes across as cheeky.

Working as a bartender: These sayings when paying are just annoying

Cashiers in supermarkets can also sing a song about it: Some customers think they are reinventing the joke wheel when they say things

like “The note can go, I can’t deduct it from my taxes anyway”

when paying .

Let me tell you: the service staff is guaranteed to have heard your funny sayings before.

Also to the question: "Bar or with a card?" to answer "Only cash is true" will certainly only cause a tired smile from your waiter.

If you are asked when paying with a card: "You can now hold the card to the device" - just refrain from answering "No, unfortunately I have to hehe." According to the Reddit thread, this is also one of the

unwelcome sayings

in life bar clerks.

And do you feel caught?

Perhaps you should refrain from saying a "funny" joke the next time you visit the bar and simply reward good service with a tip.

The staff will thank you.
