Disappointment: If this is the new world of "Shooter World", we're in trouble Israel today

2022-06-13T12:11:53.893Z

"Shooter World: A New World" could have been a great opportunity to go in new directions that the previous film began, "Fall of the Kingdom", but in practice it was a corny, tiring and busy end result - and even the actors themselves did not really want to be there • Yishai Kitchels did not Blame them

"Jurassic World: A New World" is the sixth episode in the "Jurassic Park" series, and the episode that seals the trilogy that began with "Jurassic World" (2015).

It's also the weakest and most scribbled episode of all - and it's not that the other sequels were that good, is it?

The previous film, "The World of the Shooter: The Fall of the Kingdom", which was released in 2018, was actually not bad at all, mainly due to the creative and sweeping directing work of the Spanish director Juan Antonio Biona.

True, the story itself was quite common, but the end point of the film, which released the dinosaurs into the world, at least created some anticipation for the next episode and provided the creators with the theoretical possibility to go in new, exciting and a little less used directions.

What a pity, then, that this possibility is abandoned immediately with the beginning of a "new world."

After a brief prologue, which demonstrates how crazy life has become in the company of prehistoric predators, Colin Trevor's film (which also signed the first film in the trilogy) retreats back to the regular and disgusting formula, and even more so.

Our uniqueness or brilliance protagonist, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Deering (Bryce Dallas Howard) live in the middle of nowhere along with the cloned girl they adopted at the end of the previous film (yes, I forgot about her existence, too).

At the same time, the protagonists of the original 1993 film, Dr. Eli Satler (Laura Daren) and Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neil), join forces to figure out how they can save humanity from a dangerous strain of genetically engineered locust that threatens to destroy food supplies of the world.

Non-unique heroes.

From there, the cloned boy is kidnapped by an evil billionaire (Campbell Scott), and Owen and Claire head out to his secluded and elaborate complex in the Dolomites to save her.

As expected, Eli and Allen's detective mission also leads them to the exact same complex, where they also meet the chatty philosopher Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), who you will surely remember from the first two films, directed by Steven Spielberg (and from the fifth film).

Believe it or not, it's a lot more cumbersome than it sounds, and not fun at all.

None of the plot lines are particularly interesting or original, and there is not a single scene here that will manage to engrave itself on your memory.

Meanwhile, Trevor incorporates an exaggerated amount of generic and noisy action scenes (which might have been considered innovative if the year was 2005), and insists on incorporating more and more characters from previous films (whether they are needed or not).

This contributes to the overall randomness of the film and reinforces the sense that this project was created by a computer-generated plot generator, not by humans.

And what about dinosaurs, you ask?

Well, ironically they are far less impressive and scary than they were in Spielberg's original film, and they also do not really get anything out of the ordinary to do.

There are no iconic moments of horror here that will enter the series' Hall of Fame (assuming there is one at all), and the many (and very dry) human characters rob them of screen time and pretty much push them to the margins.

To make matters worse, none of the players look like they really want to be there.

And you know what?

It's hard to blame them.

I, too, was just waiting for it to end.
