Several US cities break records with high temperatures

In Phoenix the thermometer reached 114 degrees Fahrenheit, a temperature not seen since 1918. Las Vegas tied its record of 109° recorded in 1956. Denver, Colorado reached 100° and California experienced as high as 122°.
