Following Israel Today's revelations: During a discussion in the Knesset Health Committee, ongoing failures were discovered in the management of the medical center, which are not treated.

"Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz understands that there are deep problems in the functioning and operation of Haemek Hospital, but so far we have not seen any suitable solutions to the situation."

This was stated yesterday by Lior Barak, Deputy Director of the HMOs at the Ministry of Health, at a special follow-up discussion on the "Valley" hospital held at the Knesset Health Committee chaired by MK Idit Silman.

In the discussion, which took place after the ongoing exposures of "Israel Today", it emerged that Horowitz and the ministry's director general, Prof. Nachman Ash, decided to establish a special team jointly with the Ministries of Health and Finance that would examine the difficult and unusual problems at the medical center.

At the same time, it became clear that Clofit Clalit, the owner of the hospital, did not submit the five-year plan it had prepared for review by the Ministry of Health, despite promises to do so at a previous committee meeting in the Knesset in February this year.

It was also revealed at the hearing that the management of the Ministry of Health did not act against Clalit and did not demand to present the plan, as required by the Knesset Health Committee, and the hearing raised sharp criticism against Health Minister Horowitz and the ministry's director general, Prof. Nachman Ash.

MK Silman said that "there is now a health minister who does not see Haemek Hospital", and announced that this morning there will be another discussion, third in number, about the crisis in the hospital where Clalit and the Ministry of Health are required to present their plans for the deep crisis at the medical center. Give up treatment

Prof. Nimrod Rosen, director of the orthopedic department in the valley, warned that due to the lack of infrastructure and operating rooms, some patients have to cancel appointments for surgeries that have been waiting for them, when in some cases it is years of waiting:

Meanwhile, it was revealed that due to the distress in the emergency room, patients have to wait many hours for tests and dozens of them give up treatment and leave the hospital without having completed all the tests.
