Bradley Cooper felt "lost" early in his career.

He told the creators of the SmartLess podcast, which was released on Tuesday.

Accordingly, the US actor ("A Star Is Born") had a lot of physical, but also mental problems: "Shortly after I was fired at 'Alias', I tore my Achilles tendon".

After leaving the US series, he had "zero self-esteem".

Another problem: "I was addicted to cocaine."

The first »Hangover« film, which he made at the age of 36, brought about a major change.

But above all, the birth of his daughter has improved his attitude towards himself.

"Being a father has changed everything," says the 47-year-old.

Every single day is "overshadowed or filled with glorious colors" by the fact that he has a child.

In contrast, even the greatest fulfillment at work would fade.

"You have that wonderful experience or breakthrough with a screenplay, or you have a wonderful moment on set or in the editing room, but you have about 40 moments every day with your child that represent the same level of joy.

It's not crazy, it's just the truth.«

Cooper's daughter Lea De Seine was born in 2017.

He takes care of the girl together with the mother, the model Irina Shayk.

The couple separated in 2019, but share the parenting work.

Shayk has previously praised Cooper as "the most amazing dad."
