(ANSA) - NAPLES, JUN 15 - Palazzo Reale di Napoli is ready to host the first Conference of Ministers of Culture of the Mediterranean Countries which will start tomorrow June 16 with an opening ceremony in the Cortile d'Onore, which will be attended by the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Luigi di Maio.


   All the rooms of the Palazzo have been set up ad hoc to welcome the 40 ministers and their delegations, as well as the Teatro di San Carlo, which tomorrow evening, with its orchestra, directed by Maestro Riccardo Frizza, will make guests listen to a selection of works by the beautiful Italian song, such as "VissiD'Arte" from Tosca by Giacomo Puccini, "Di Provenza Il Mar" from LaTraviata by Giuseppe Verdi and "La Danza,


   Mario Cresci, on the other hand, is the work that guides the first Conference of the Ministers of Culture of the Mediterranean.


   The artist is one of the key figures in the history of Italian photography, above all for the critical, experimental and multidisciplinary approach of his incessant visual research.

Inside the Royal Palace, the exhibition "the gold of time" was set up, curated by the ICCD - Central Institute for Catalog and Documentation of the MiC, which exhibits the works of the artist residence that Mario Cresci himself held at the 'ICCD.

Furthermore, on the occasion of the summit, the Palinurodella Marina Militare ship which hosts on board the documentary exhibition entitled "Stories of epidemics between land and sea in archive papers", will be moored in the Gulf of Naples, in front of the Royal Palace.

The delegations will be welcomed by the Fanfare of the 10th Carabinieri Regiment "Campania" Naples.


   The sessions will be three: the first on "Culture, a resource for peace and security", the second on "Culture, the engine and enabling factor for sustainable development and green transition" and the third on "Culture, a world of intransition" .

The summit aims to raise cultural diplomacy to a strategic priority in a region crucial to global equilibrium, and to develop actions aimed at protecting and promoting culture in the Euro-Mediterranean region as an instrument of peace, dialogue and innovation, through the Naples initiative for cultural collaboration in the Mediterranean.

The conclusions of the two days will be illustrated to Minister Franceschini, during the final press conference to be held on June 17, at 4.30 pm, in the Cortedi Theater of Palazzo Reale.
