", said in a press release the CGT-FTDNEEA union.
In Paris, household waste collection is organized by the Department of Cleanliness and Water (DPE).
Municipal services provide collection in the 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 17th and 20th arrondissements.
Collection in the other boroughs is carried out by private companies.

The residents concerned began to share on social networks images of waste accumulating on the sidewalk, around uncollected dumpsters, fearing serious inconvenience, in particular olfactory, in the middle of a heat wave.
The town hall of the 16th arrondissement demanded in a press release that the City of Paris put in place “
emergency solutions
” and mobilize “
immediately private collection actors
”.
