For several years, the gourd has appeared in our daily lives.
There are now several materials, aluminum, stainless steel, glass, plastic... The Gobi brand has measured the ecological impact of the manufacture of its various water bottles.
Here's the result :
A 75g plastic water bottle contains 2.5 times more plastic than a bottle.
It is stronger than other gourds, but it preserves the flavor of the container less, and is often partially recyclable.
It will then have to be used for two months to compensate for its ecological impact, and for 5 months if it weighs 140 grams.
The glass gourd, on the other hand, is perhaps more fragile and heavy, but is almost infinitely recyclable and often made in France.
It will therefore take 3 months to offset the ecological footprint of a 300 gram bottle.
It is the stainless steel bottle that wins the palm of the bad ecological student, because of its component, which is most often produced in China and whose extraction is very polluting.
It will have to be used for 3 years to compensate for its ecological impact.
In a survey conducted by Gobi, the majority of French people questioned owned a water bottle made of stainless steel.
