At the end of a journey that began in June 2019, Costa Rica qualified for the World Cup in Qatar, becoming the last of the 32 countries that will take part in the world championship (November 21-December 18).
The promotion came thanks to the 1-0 over New Zealand in the air-conditioned Ahmad ben Ali stadium in Al-Rayyan For Costa Rica it is the qualification for the sixth World Cup, the third in a row.
This is the list of the 32 participants in the next World Cup: - Africa Zone: Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia.
- South America area: Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Uruguay.
- North America and Central Zone: Canada, United States, Mexico, Costa Rica.
- Asia Zone: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Australia, South Korea, Iran, Japan.
- Europe zone: England, Germany, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, France, Holland, Wales, Portugal, Poland, Serbia, Switzerland.
