Fans and lovers of the games of your childhood, it will soon be possible to become Seong Gi-hun, Cho Sang-woo or even Kang Sae-byeok.
Netflix has announced the adaptation of the
Squid Game
series into a reality show.
Titled
Squid Game: The Challenge
, the competition will pit 456 players against each other in a series of games inspired by the show, with a prize of $4.56 million.
The streaming platform unveiled this new show on Tuesday June 14 during the Banff World Media Festival, a few days after announcing that the series would be renewed for a second season.

During his speech, Brandon Riegg, the vice-president of Netflix in charge of unscheduled series and documentaries, notably thanked the director of the show, Hwang Dong-hyuk.
“We are grateful for his support as we transform the fictional world into reality, in massive competition and a social experiment.
Fans of the series will experience a fascinating and unpredictable journey as our 456 competitors take part in the biggest series of challenges ever, full of tension and twists and turns.

Conditions of participation
Let the candidates be reassured, the stake will not be life or death.
The competition will consist of 10 episodes and a teaser has already been released by the platform.
A website dedicated to registrations has been created, setting out several criteria to be met in order to participate.
If the show is open to people from all over the world, it is still necessary that the participants are English-speaking to be able to understand the rules of each game.
Players must be at least 21 years old and be available for a maximum of 4 weeks.
They must also be in possession of a valid passport to be able to travel during the filming period.
Last condition to be met, candidates must not have any connection with the Netflix company.
According to the registration site, filming should begin in early 2023, but no broadcast date has yet been announced.
