The novel insists on the inner life of the star and shows a vitiated America, plagued by social injustices.

Will it be the same in the biopic scheduled for September 23?

The film had been excluded from the official selection of the 75th Cannes Film Festival because no theatrical release had been planned in France.

In the United States, it is the subject of a mention prohibited with less than 17 years for its scenes of sex.

In the film, produced in particular by Brad Pitt, the Hollywood star who died at the age of 36 in 1962, and who still fascinates 60 years later, is interpreted by the Cuban-Spanish actress Ana de Armas.

The first teaser thus shows the sad Marilyn Monroe, losing hope while waiting for her mother in the wings.

Facing a large mirror, she cries, then the flashes punctuate the rest of the video, before she regains her face smile.

From the first images, his incarnation is stunning.

Ana de Armas explains in the press release associated with the trailer that

“Andrew Dominik's ambition was very clear from the start: to stage Marilyn Monroe's journey by adopting her own point of view.

He wanted viewers to understand not only what Marilyn could feel as a star, but also as Norma Jeane.

I found it to be the bravest, most uninhibited and most feminist approach to the trajectory of this woman that I have ever seen.

Adrien Brody also appears in the cast, in the role of playwright Arthur Miller, who was married to Marilyn Monroe.

Joyce Carol Oates' novel, released in 2000, is one of the American novelist's most famous.

A fictional biography, it retraces a nightmarish trajectory of Norma Jean Baker.
