EU-19: inflation confirmed at a record 8.1% in May

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JUN 17 - The estimate of inflation in May in the euro area is confirmed at the record value of 8.1%, after the flash estimate still at 8.1% given on 31 May.

Inflation had been 7.4% in April and 2% a year earlier.

In the EU, inflation in May was 8.8%, compared to 8.1% in April and 2.3% a year earlier.
