France is taking on a little more color.
Météo France placed two new departments on heatwave red vigilance this Friday, Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées, bringing the total of departments on maximum alert to 14.
56 departments are on orange alert in the face of the “exceptionally” precocious heat wave which is affecting France this week, i.e. 31 more.
In total, therefore, around three-quarters of the population (45 million people) are affected by this orange and red heat wave alert.

These very high temperatures should reach their "climax" on Saturday, with values around 40°C also in Île-de-France, but the vigilance map should not change, forecasters from Météo France said during a conference. online to present this new vigilance card.
