Almost 37 years after its release, British singer Kate Bush's song "Running Up That Hill" has reached number one in the UK charts.

The song from 1985 set a whole series of records, as the Official Charts Company announced on Friday.

The reason for the sudden success is the Netflix series »Stranger Things«.

"Running up that Hill" is included in the soundtrack of the fourth season of the hit series.

Since the season was released on the streaming platform, the song has been the most played on the music streaming service Spotify.

According to the Official Charts Company, a song has never reached number one so many years after its release.

At 66, Kate Bush is also the oldest female musician with a number one hit in Great Britain.

Her last major chart success was "Wuthering Heights" 44 years ago - this period is also a record.

Bush has lived in seclusion for decades.

In 2014 she performed again in London.

The tickets were sold out in 15 minutes.
