Ramsay Hunt syndrome: Justin Bieber has to cancel further concerts because of facial paralysis

His one-sided facial paralysis forces Justin Bieber to disappoint his US fans: the pop star cancels several appearances in North America. But he is optimistic for Europe in the summer.

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has canceled further concert dates due to facial paralysis.

All planned US concerts of the "Justice World Tour" in June and July could no longer take place and would have to be postponed, the 28-year-old team said on the tour's official Instagram account.

The statement continued: "Justin continues to receive the best medical care possible, is optimistic about his recovery and looks forward to touring again later in the summer and performing for his fans overseas." The European leg of the world tour begins with a show in the Italian city of Lucca on July 31, according to the singer's website.

In Germany, Bieber is not expected for concerts until the beginning of 2023, on January 16 in Hamburg, on January 31.

in Cologne, on 2.2.

in Frankfurt am Main and on February 4th in Berlin.

At the end of last week, after the cancellation of several concert dates, Bieber informed his fans that he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome.

This rare viral disease attacks nerves in the ear and face.

He couldn't blink, laugh or move his nostril on the right half of his face, the singer said in a video message.

It's another health setback for the pop star after multiple illnesses have impacted his career in recent years.

Most recently, he tested positive for the corona virus at the end of February and had to cancel concerts.
