Cooling off in the Stadionbad in Cologne.

In the Rhine metropolis, the thermometer climbed to 36 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

That was around ten degrees more than was measured in Heraklion on Crete in the late afternoon.

With summer temperatures, people were looking to cool off everywhere.

This was also the case at the Hurricane Festival in Scheeßel, Lower Saxony.

There was enough space for at least eight feet in this teddy bear paddling pool.

Loud music, cold drinks - and of course health care: At the Hurricane Festival, a self-painted sign is a reminder of sunburn prevention.

The open-air festival will take place from June 17th to 19th, for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.

While it was sunny and hot in the south, it was clear to cloudy in the north.

The weather attracted many to the coasts - like here in Warnemünde.

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania it is very tolerable at 22 to 25 degrees, as meteorologist Stefan Kreibohm from the Hiddensee weather studio said.
