Damascus-SANA

More than 500 male and female students from the seventh and eighth grades of basic education competed today in physics and chemistry tests within the second phase of the Science Olympiad for Youth in Mathematics and Science for the year 2022, which is held by the Excellence and Creativity Authority.

The tests were conducted at the same time in the specified centers within the universities in the governorates, as they included inferential questions to reveal the nucleus of excellence among the participants through their logical and analytical thinking methods.

Malik Hammoud, the media advisor at the Excellence and Creativity Commission, said in a statement to SANA that the students participating in these exams are the ones who succeeded in the first-stage exams that were held within the governorates with the participation of about 900 male and female students.

Hammoud pointed out that the biology exams at this stage were conducted last Saturday, while the mathematics exams will be held next Saturday, the 25th of June.

It is noteworthy that the Excellence and Creativity Authority launched the Scientific Olympiad for Young People in Mathematics and Science on March 14, 2021.
