Summer vacation for students is upon us and the beaches are filling up in the small coastal town of Bait Lahiya.

Until 2005, the place repeatedly made headlines for clashes between Palestinians and Israelis.

Then the Israelis left the Gaza Strip, and since then the city has been ruled by the Islamic Hamas.

Once again, forests are on fire in the US state on the west coast.

Dino Disneyland

In March 2019, Ankapark opened near Ankara with the claim of being the largest theme park in the world.

Five million visitors from Germany and abroad visited the attraction in the first year.

After that, however, the project, which cost around 800 million dollars, literally imploded.

Just under a year later, the organizers closed the doors and the attractions and play equipment began to rot.

Meanwhile, prosecutors and investigators are scrambling to investigate the violations of the law committed in selling off the dinosaur statues, planted trees, office furniture and computers, and other furnishings.

At the center of the investigation is the initiator of Ankapark, Melih Gokcek, who was once the mayor of Ankara.

Riddles on the wall

They are probably among the most famous pictures in the world.

Because they are so easily accessible and yet enigmatic.

This effect may be intensified if you admire Vincent Van Gogh's pictures not on a screen, but projected onto the floor, walls, columns and ceilings.

»Beyond Van Gogh« is the name of the immersive exhibition in Bogota, Colombia, which will open on July 10th.

Harmless shark

The statue of the great white shark on the Manhattan Beach Pier does not only attract tourists.

Los Angeles residents also like to come here to relax.

However, even with its mouth wide open, the shark hardly scares a walker.

»Jaws« and its follow-up films have long since disappeared from art house cinemas.

And on TV, the series with the trick technique from the seventies looks rather graceful.
