At the foot of the Tour Orion in Montreuil (93), cinema is experienced in the flesh.
No projection, no armchair, but a space of 700m2, where more than a hundred spectators are literally immersed in the middle of the main sets of the film Terminator 2. There is the famous biker bar, The Corral, where the Terminator just arrived from the future (and completely naked), provokes a fight with a biker before taking his clothes and his motorcycle.
But also the arcade where the young John Connor has his habits, the psychiatric hospital of Pescadero where Sarah Connor is locked up, the offices of Cyberdyne, the camp of Enrique in the desert in Mexico.
Without forgetting, the final scene of the film where the heroes confront the T-1000 in a foundry.
The public is free to stroll wherever they want, rummage through drawers, drink a cold beer at the bar and even play a game of pool.
Around them, 20 actors embody the main roles and certain secondary characters of the film for more than three hours.
The action takes place all over the place at the same time and we can sometimes experience new scenes, imagined by the director Eliza Calmat, such as that of the poor stripped biker who is having his wounds treated, while several meters from there, Sarah Connor does her famous pull-ups, locked up in her cell at the Pescadero psychiatric hospital.
Fans of the film, who came in large numbers to the premiere on Thursday evening, were delighted.
“It's found it crazy as an experience.
The sets are crazy and we don't know where to turn, so many things are happening at the same time, ”says Justine, who came with a group of friends.
We were there too.
