Suzanne Collins "The Hunger Games X": About the Book
Cover "The Hunger Games X" Suzanne Collins © Oetinger Verlag
The story in The Hunger Games X: A Song of Birds and Snakes begins before the events of Katniss and Peeta.
We learn the history of Coriolanus Snow.
Ambition drives him.
Rivalry inspires him.
But power comes at a price.
It is the morning of the harvest of the tenth Hunger Games.
In the Capitol, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow prepares to rise to stardom as a mentor at the Hunger Games.
The once-powerful Snow family is going through hard times, and their fate depends on whether Coriolanus succeeds in outdoing and outdoing his competitors and mentoring the victorious tribute.
However, the odds are slim.
He has been given the humiliating task of mentoring the female tribute from the run-down District 12 of all people - you can't fall any lower than that.
From then on, their destinies are inextricably linked.
Every decision Coriolanus makes could be about success or failure,
determine triumph or defeat.
Inside the arena it is a matter of life and death, outside the arena Coriolanus fights against the rising feelings for his doomed tribute.
He has to make a choice: to follow the rules or to survive - at any cost.

The rest of the story is just as exciting as it was in the Panem series before.
We learn a lot of background events and can understand some characters better later in the story.
Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games: My Verdict
If you have already read the series "Hunger Games" with pleasure, you have come to the right place.
I like the perspective on the events before and I might like to read about the events after Katniss and Peeta as well.
I particularly liked the realistic portrayal of trauma.
This is also very well read in the series.
Worth reading for all science fiction and dystopia fans.
