In Spain, firefighters are still battling several blazes across the country.
The largest of these wildfires has already destroyed more than 25,000 hectares in the Sierra de la Culebra, a mountain range in the Castile and León region, where evacuated residents were finally able to return home.
Other regions, such as Catalonia or Aragon, are also fighting smaller fires, such as that of Nonaspe, which burned around 2,000 hectares.
Improving weather conditions allow experts to believe that the fires could be under control during the day.
Temperatures above 40°C were recorded in Spain throughout the week, but fell on Sunday across most of the country.
The mercury is expected to reach only 29°C in Madrid on Sunday and 25°C in the province of Zamora, where the Sierra de Culebra mountain range is located.
