The leader of Nupes, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, estimated on Sunday that the “rout of the presidential party” was “total” and “that no majority” presented itself, an “unexpected” and “unheard of” situation, in evening of the second round of legislative elections.
The leader of the union of the left castigated the “moral failure” of the members of the majority “who gave lessons to everyone all the time and who claimed to be the roadblock to the far right and who had the main result of having strengthened their ranks".
“Out of 65 face-to-face meetings between the Nupes and the RN, the lesson givers were unable to give a clear instruction in 52 cases, which disqualifies them from giving moral lessons for anyone”, a- he accused.
Jean-Luc Mélenchon welcomed the defeat of several tenors of Macronie: “what a good riddance to have seen, after Mr. Blanquer eliminated in the first round, eject the trimmer (Christophe) Castaner and the insulting ( Amélie de) Montchalin”, he launched to his supporters from the evening HQ of the Nupes at the Élysée Montmartre.
